Long long walk

Me and Tak went for a damn long walk today, I decided to go explore the other big dog park in town and we ended up walkin for hours. It was such a beautiful day and we had nothin better to do so why turn around before you run out of trails?

Need ideas for my photo blog

So I want to do a theme week on my 365 photo blog and I want peoples ideas on what theme it should be. So comment or email me an idea for a theme. It needs to be something that I can actually do not cities of europe. Something like abstract, nature, urban but not those cause thats all I shoot right now I would like to try to force myself to try new things.

V day

So me Trish and Tako had a nice little Valentines day yesterday. We woke up feeling a little home sick and decided to go look for some mountains. 3+ hours of driving west and we finely spotted the Rockies at Jasper park. We grabbed some lunch and went to go check out the mountains but got stopped at the park entrance. $20 to get into the park! F that so we turned around and ate lunch at the rest area at the edge of the park and took some photos and stuff. All in all it was a nice drive and it was great to see mountains but too bad the weather was grey. After the drive we went to dinner at Japanese Village, it's one of those places with the grill at your table and the chef does a show while cookin your food. It was fun and tasty but a bit expensive. Oh well everything is expensive when your broke. After dinner we went home and watched a movie, "The Time Travelers Wife" it sucked and was way off from the book which also sucked but less than the movie. But it was nice just chillen with Trish an Tak all day and it was cool seeing some mountains.

So I got a job today

Ya so I went for a job interview today for a job building bicycles for department stores. And a couple hours later he called to tell me that I blew all the other interviewees out of the cater and the job is mine if I want it. And since I'm poor and EI runs out in a week, yes I want. It's pretty cool, my new boss just subcontracts himself to Zellers and Canadian Tire to build all the stuff that minimum wage retarded teenagers would just screw up like bikes, BBQs, patio fur nature, and stuff like that but mostly bikes. So we just go from store to store and put together there new stock when it comes in. So a new location and new things to put together every day, and it's just me and him and maybe one more guy if we get busy hangin out and assembling.

I'm stoked, that's a big weight off my shoulders and I don't have to go do some lame ass job and no more interviews. Oh and the cool thing is it's just seasonal so the jobs done in June so we can make a clean split and take off to Vancouver then.....if the house is sold.

The Brothers Bloom

I just watched the movie The Brothers Bloom. I really liked it alot and I might have a new favorite DP Steve Yedlin. I will have to check out some of his other work.

Odd day

So I went for a weird job interview today. I don't think I even applied for the job but this life insurance place called me up said they liked my resume and wanted an interview. So I go in and there are like 20 guys in full suits and ties and shiny shoes waiting for interviews in a little waiting room. After a 20min wait I get my turn and I actually think I did half decent even though I was dressed like hell and had to ask half way through the interview what job I was being interviewed for. But I'm so damn charming I think they liked me. So it turns out its a commission job selling insurance to unions and businesses. I am not gonna take the job even if they offer it to me, since that is not my scene. But it was a good practice interview.

Then while I was at Starbucks telling Trish about my morning I got a call from my BFF Josh and he told me his little sis Billy is getting married. Yay it's about time for her and it'd guaranteed to be a damn good party! Congrats Billy and John..

So that's my day so far.

Calgary, COP, Canadian Open

So I had a fun weekend down in Calgary filming some top notch snowboarding at the Burton Candian Open. Probably the biggest contest in Canada and a really well organised event it draws some of the best riders from around the world gunning for the $50,000 prize money.



I had a tough time shooting it since I haven't been filming snowboarding much lately and plus I never really shoot comps. So I don't really know how great the footage is. I hate to just shoot stock angles of run after run but it's too hard to try to get different angles for every person. Burton wants the footage so I am curious to get some feedback. Anyway since I was lugging the video camera I didnt have the still camera with me much so not many pics unfortunatly.



But anyway it was nice to get out shooting some real riding again. And I will post up a video from it when I get it edited. And once again thanks goes out to Josh and Alicia for the place to crash and it was nice getting to hang with Alicia, too bad I missed out on hanging with Hailey. Next time forsure.

Not much else is new around here. Just trying to clean up the house to get it ready to sell. If anybody wants to buy my house I will give you a sweet deal.
