Parting out my Corolla

So it's a sad day in the Hot Mess Garage. I have been disassembling my drift car and selling all the parts. On the bright side I'm getting some pretty good money for everything and will be able to afford a new HD video camera setup before the filming season gets going.

Oh well, out with the old and in with the new.

New computer and such.

So my buddy Lee that I have been working with for a while needed a place to stay and we are poor and had a spare room. 1 + 1 = rent $$$ ha-yaya.

Also due to Lee's old over consumerism he had a perfectly good extra computer that he gave me for a new editing system. Its slow by todays standards bu it beats the hell out of my old one. It has all sorts of ram and memory and other such non sense. It also lights up all crazy inside....gamers.

Also Trish is playin her favorite video game "scream at the TV" other people call it "Guitar Hero"

Here is a good little clip showcasing my 16mm filming. The footage of Josh Evin was filmed in a couple hours at Castlgar skatepark and the shredding is Mark Fawcett in Portillo Chile from the summer of 2006 I think. Enjoy!

New layout!

So I decided I wanted a different layout for the blog and I had this idea for a header photo. So me and Trish and Tak went out and found a field to do this "photo shoot". I wanted to make a perady of myself filming, photographing, and as rider all in the dead flat no snow praries. that picture took a day of planning 2 hours to shoot and like 6 hours to edit. I hope it was worth it.

Kodachrome

Here is a cool short film about the FSA and the use of Kodachrome film in the post depression era. It struck me around half way through the video that I felt like all the photos were re-enactments of the time, but they are actually photos from the late 30s-50s but because they are in color it all seems unreal. Very interesting.

more photo walk

So yesterday me Trish an TAKO went and walked up the "ski hill" all 40 feet of it. Yay Alberta!!! Then we got kicked off because apparently walking on ski hills is to dangerous.

After that we went to the usuall dog park to walk some more and take some pictures of fall foilage and whatnot.

So we have been seriously discussing moving back to BC. Trish hates the cold, Tak hates the cold, and I have no job and miss the mountains. We will see I guess.

I really cant wait to get out shooting. I hope I can drum up some work to do some traveling this winter. Im getting cabin fever sittin around the house unemployed and hobby-less. And to top it all off the heater has been busted for 3 days and its cold here. Last year it broke while it was -30 now this year it craps out ar 6pm friday of the thanksgiving long weekend. Yay.

Lazy friday

Its damn hard to get motivated to go out in the cold and work on some cool car you will never get to drive.

So I stretch out the morning routine.

Off topic but as of this morning I have lost 20lbs since Sept 1st, this is the lightest I have been since junior high.

Snow

I woke to snow on the ground. Every other year of my life I would be stoked, but up here in the flat land it sucks. And people suck at driving so bad its rediculous.

playin with HDR

I have been totally out of the scene with photography and tech stuff living up here in the arctic tundra, so it took me a while to learn about HDR photography. So I tried it out on my car a bit.
